Herriman Wildfire in My Backyard

The recent Herriman "Machine Gun" wildfire has left us feeling very grateful that we still have a home to live in. The scary thing is the fire was only a few blocks away from where I walk Daisy on a regular basis.

It was scary to watch it from smoking on the other side of the mountain to seeing 50 foot flames come down the mountain. Our neighborhood was evacuated as the smoke got so thick you couldn't breath. As we watched this fire progress I kept taking pictures until I couldn't stand the smoke.

As I drove up today to survey the damage to some of the homes, it is amazing to me that more homes were not burned down. So many homes you could see that the flames got as close as 5-10 feet away, the homes survived the fire untouched. There were only 2 homes that burned to the ground, 1 of them no one lived in. A few homes will have to have their roofs replaced and some minor damage repaired.

There very easily could have been a huge loss of of more than 100 homes. The city of Herriman was very well organized with the fire and police in keeping this under control. I am proud to live in a great community and I feel so grateful that so many people were spared from a disaster that could have been much worse.

Memorial Day: Be Proud of a Free Country

I think of Memorial Day as a day to remind us of our freedom, and a day to remember our fallen hero's that fought for our country. From the time this country began, many people came over from other countries in search of a new dream. To live in a land with the freedom to worship in their own religion, and not have to be ruled by kings or queens dictating how they should live. I am grateful for the freedoms we have in our country and that we have the freedom to choose to make our own decisions.

Many people take the US Constitution for granted. It was written for a purpose to protect the freedoms we have in our country. It troubles me to think there are many people that are trying to abolish or change our constitution. When that happens, we lose our freedom to act for ourselves and make our own choices. Some of the founding fathers of our country died while trying to protect our freedom. Be grateful for the freedom you have and enjoy everyday that you have to live in freedom, be proud of our free country.

This is an important organization to me because I had a premature baby and this organization was a great help to me in that time of my life, this is my way of giving back. March of Dimes is on a mission to help prevent premature births, and help families in need of their services.

What is Gratitude?

It is a sincere appreciation for things around us, a feeling of thankfulness for what we have or benefits we have received. I think gratitude is something we should feel each and every day throughout the year. It is gratitude that will get us through tough times. I have so much to be grateful for, I can't possibly list everything in one blog. I hope that what I can do is list some things that will help remind us different ways to show gratitude. I hope that by showing gratitude it will impact others in a positive way that they will want to do the same for someone else.

Attitude - A grateful heart is the beginning of greatness. You are happier when you have a grateful attitude. A grateful attitude will bless us and others.
Be Kind to Others - Treat others with the same respect as you would want others to treat you.
Give a compliment - Show a smile, give a compliment to someone for something you like about them, or something good they have done.

Cayenne's Puppies

My whole family pretty much has Dachshunds. Although I grew up around many other breeds of dogs, the Dachshund is the breed I that has become my favorite. They are fun dogs, they are easy to train and do best when you keep them on a schedule. They will always keep you entertained and much of the time they think they are human.

Cayenne is my Dad and Step Mom's dog. On May 14, 2009 these Miniature Dachshund AKC puppies were born. One Black and Tan male, and two Red females. They are very cute and playful. The father has champion blood lines and is Black & Tan, Cayenne is a very pretty Red. I took pictures yesterday and thought I would post them. Lessons of Life

These are some kind thoughts that a friend of mine emailed to me, and I thought I might share them.

We will be fulfilled in the best way possible and as quickly possible. But some things take time. Sometimes, we have lessons to learn first, lessons that prepare us so we can accept the good we deserve. Things are being worked out in us, and in others. Blocks in us are being removed. A solid foundation is being laid.

Be patient, Relax and trust. Let go. Then, let go some more. Good things are planned for us. We will receive them at the first available moment. We will have all our heart longs for. Relax and trust.

I will identify what I want and need; then, I'll be willing to let go of it. I will devote my energy to living my life today, so I may master my lessons as quickly as possible. I will trust that what I want and need is coming to me. I will let go of my need to control the details.

Blogging is a great way to express yourself, keep in touch with family and friends. Blogging is not just something you do for fun anymore. It is a great tool to also increase traffic to your website and your business. While we have had a tough economy, it's also one of the best avenues for free advertising. There are many ways you can blog and make money. I see blogging as one of the best Marketing tools to help boost my business, and any leads I get from it I see as a bonus to what I am already doing.

Blogging has been very successful for many people, but don't count on it to be a stable income. What you want to do is build multiple streams of income. Most successful bloggers have been doing it for several years. I have been now blogging for one year, and I am happy when I do get the occasional paid blogging job.

Pancreatitis in Dogs

Over the last three weeks my little dog Daisy became ill with Pancreatitis. This something that is very common in dogs and cats that eat something that they are not supposed to. Pancreatitis is a digestive disorder that is usually cause by eating people food that is high in fat. This was set off when Daisy ate a small piece of ham. She usually doesn't eat anything but her own food. That a couple hours after she ate she started throwing up. She continued to throw up through the night, then the next day she had the runs. I made her some rice to help settle her tummy. She did not want to eat at all that day, and was not feeling well. After a day or two she started feeling better, she was eating the rice but not touching the dog food. In the middle of the night she threw up bile every night at 4:00 Am for the next few days. On Monday I took her to the Vet they put her on a prescription dog food. She ate well for the first four days, then started having the tummy trouble again in the middle of the night. I took her to the vet again the following Monday. He prescribed for her a soft prescription dog food I could mix with rice and eventually mix with dry. He also put her on Flagyl a medication that is supposed to help reduce any inflammation in her intestines and make it easier to digest her food.

I am sorry to be so graphic but, I wanted to illustrate how serious Pancreatitis can be. If not checked, it can develop into a chronic condition and cause other health problems. Pancreatitis is common in pets around Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter (because of table scraps). Not all dogs will get it, but seems to be more common in small breed purebred dogs.

Daisy in the Desert

This weekend we went camping in the desert with our dog. Daisy loves to run and play in the desert. She loves to go for rides in the truck and on the four wheeler, she will chase almost anything that moves. When our trip has ended she will sleep for a week.

I think I found a new calling in life. To motivate. I have been teaching some seminars in various subjects based on my experience in Graphic Design, Marketing etc. Every time I finish a seminar I feel excited that everyone in my group is excited to apply the new knowledge they have gained. This is a motivation for me to do bigger and greater things. I love to surround myself with positive people. It is just like when I used to run everyday it was much easier to go farther and run consistently when I had a running buddy.

One reason I started teaching these seminars is I love to help people and I want everyone I share with to gain some value. Also my appointment book was getting rather full and I wasn't spending as much of my time being productive. I love helping others, my goal is for everyone that I coach that they in turn will help someone else. It's this type of thinking that will get us through our tough economy. I have started a daily routine to keep myself motivated and positive.

Start out your day by listening to music that makes you feel good about yourself.
Pass on a positive thought to someone else.
Surround yourself with positive people.

Positive Thinking is the Key to Surviving Tough Times

With our current economic crisis and hundreds of thousands of people getting laid off across the nation, it is troubling to think where we are headed. Our nation is in a full blown depression. The fall of our economy was caused by greed and dishonest people that worked at the top of major corporations refusing to accept accountability. I refuse to buy into the political schemes of these companies that are seeking bailouts. The majority of these bailouts have not been used to recover losses or save jobs. They have been used for the wrong reasons to cover there own ass-ets. There is a way to turn this around. POSITIVE THINKING, and helping others.

I am determined to make the best of my own resources, while educating myself to find creative ways to make money and utilize every resource that is available to help everyone where ever I can. Recently I have posted a job board on my website www.LayZDaisy.com/jobs.htm I hope by having this job board on my site it will help those find a job that needs one. I think when ever we can help someone else, it is this kind of thinking that will turn around our economy. Here are some other tips that will help.

Stop the worry and have POSITIVE THINKING. If you worry it will take you ten times longer to accomplish something than if you have POSITIVE THINKING. Worrying is a waste of time. POSITIVE THINKING will get you a lot farther in life and you will reach your goals in less time. POSITIVE THINKING will help you accomplish anything that you desire by attracting these good thoughts everyday and sharing your good thoughts with others. We need to lift each other up and filter out the negetive.
Be Creative and find other ways you can make an income with NO investment. Some of these ways can be selling a product or service you can provide through free internet classified advertising. www.craigslist.org
Prioritize the things that are most important. By prioritizing I mean prioritizing everything in your life starting with your finances, cleaning your house etc. Prioritizing will also relieve a lot of stress and you will be able to look at everything with a clear picture.
Cut expenses and be frugal, you can live with less. When times are tough financially being frugal is way to cut the expenses you don't need without being cheap. If you remember to recycle and reuse this will in becoming frugal. Then when ever you can prepare for the future.
Share the lessons you have learned with others. Be willing to help someone and share your POSITIVE THINKING. Then if everyone helps someone else it will spread like wild fire.

Questions You Should Ask an MLM Company Before You Join.

How many people out there signed up for an MLM company with big expectations of making money then find out later that it’s a very hard way to succeed. There have been many times I have been sucked in the pretty picture they paint. I hate when some of the people working with these companies lie to you just to get as many people as they can underneath their organization, then offer you no help once you join. The majority of MLM companies make it sound easy and say “anyone can be successful”. I don’t want to knock all MLM companies out there. There are some good ones that are legitimate. There are details you should look at with every company before you spend the money to invest. One of the most important things you should do is research. You will need to find out how stable each company is are and compare them to their competition.

What is the start-up cost and what does it include? Beware of huge upfront fees, the risk is usually much greater and make sure you are getting a good value for the money.
What kind of training do I get once I start? Make sure if you sign up that you sign up with someone that has proven to be successful and is willing to spend the time with you to properly train you.
What type of service or product will I be selling? Is this something you can truly believe in and feel good about selling?
Will I be expected to put in a minimum order every month or every quarter? Make sure you can sell more than the minimum amount required each month or quarter.
Will I be expected to recruit a minimum amount of people? Many MLM’s require you to recruit a specified number of people in order to make money in your downline.
How much commission will I make?
If I want to purchase something do I get a special discount off the retail price?
Is shipping & handling additional or does it come out of my commission?
How long do items typically take to ship to my customer?
What kind of Guarantee or Warranty does the company have on their products?
Will I need to purchase supplies such as Catalogs, order forms, etc.?
What other company benefits or incentives does this company have and how easy is it to achieve those goals?

Something US Auto Makers Have Forgotten

It seems that today many companies and their officers are driven by greed. The Government bailouts are not being used in the proper manner to save these companies from failing. This is disturbing to me that General Motors plans to close 500 dealerships and layoff thousands of jobs. Even more disturbing is that GM officials say that without the second installment of $5.4 billion dollars they will run out of money by March 31, 2009. It makes you wonder what are they doing with all that money that would make them run out? With $5.4 billion dollars you could save a whole lot of jobs. I think this is poor management to get this far into debt and not be able to pay your bills and save jobs.

When the whole auto industry is in trouble, instead of looking at the bottom of the food chain to cut costs, they should start from the top. This rather large house cleaning project should begin at the home corporate offices and look at over spending that is unnecessary, then go down to the branches of the company. Top executives refuse to take a pay cut when there are families that have worked in the Auto Industry for years living from paycheck to paycheck. Chrysler and GM need to take notes from a few competitors take some responsibility for their actions and realize it is their employees that are the core of the company and it’s what makes a company better.

BMW makes a strong statement that they take responsibility for their actions and they exist to make the world a better place. They wouldn’t be where they are today if it weren’t for the employees that make up the most important part of their company.

I have frequented to many Auto Shows, but none of them compare to the mobile electronics section at CES. You can see everything from the absolute wild to just your everyday car. In my years of experience in the print and advertising industry, I found that writing a good ad is one of the most important keys in advertising. If you are currently selling products on eBay, eBid, Etsy, Bid Owl or other auction websites, it is important to write a good ad. This works well especially for advertising a business, or for informational advertising. Your ad can make or break a campaign. It's important that you have good content; All of the information in the ad should give an accurate description with correct information. Get to the point and give as much detailed information as you can without making it lengthy. If you are going to sell a product, here are a few tips how you can start writing your own ad.

Have a few key words to make your ad catchy.
Have a good design. If you can't design a good looking ad yourself hire a professional.
Keep your ad short and sweet, with good content.

Bailouts: First the Banks, now the Auto Industry?

Over this past year many national banks have been in trouble. This happened because of bad investments and bad judgments of people that worked for these banks that did unethical loans. Because of the giant loss of banks across the country, the Federal Government decided to step in to bail out these banks in an effort to save the economy. Unfortunately it wasn’t a very well thought out plan. There were banks that used the money to pay themselves big bonuses and pay for luxury vacations, instead of using the money for what it was intended for. Then there were banks that used the money to pay for new investments, some of these banks didn’t even need the bailout money. Now the auto industry is seeking bailout money from the Government. Should these companies be bailed out? Or should they be held accountable for their actions, and file a Chapter 11 while they clean up their act.

The Government I think is going to go about this in a smarter way this time. Some things to consider are what will happen to the economy if they give the money to the auto industry? What type of stipulations will be enforced? We as tax payers do not have a choice. When ever the Federal Government gives a large sum of money to anyone, we pay for it, and usually the money comes from one of two sources, they raise taxes to pay for it or it comes out of social security.

We have been faced with difficult times in our economy. Especially this year. The unemployment rate is high and may only get worse with all of the companies going bankrupt these days. Even if your not unemployed many peoples finances are tighter than ever this year. I have been thinking how can I make a difference in these difficult times? Here is a website I came across for additional ideas to make a difference. Charity Guide Even if you don't have money to donate, chances are you have something in your house that you can donate. All of these organizations welcome volunteers you can donate your time.

There are a number of charities looking for things you can donate that can be used items. Some items I never would have even thought of. There are many families living in shelters or apartments that have nothing.

Big Brothers Big Sisters - This organization will take used clothing, bedding, books, toys, recreational items, motor vehicles, boats, motor homes, airplanes, construction equipment,
Local Food Bank - I have donated food from my pantry. I look at the items in there and if they have been sitting there for a few months and it's not expired than I will give it to the food bank.
Local Shelters - Many of the local shelters will take clothes, bedding, toys.

Money saving tips in today's economy.

With the the stock market down and the unemployment rate rising, we are now in a recession. There are many things in our future that could be uncertain, and there are many different things we can do to tighten our budget without giving up our way of living.

I have decided to share a few small things that I do that are ways you can save money. You may not all agree with these things but when you implement these things into your daily living habits, the pennies will add up and can make a big difference in the way you spend money.

Cleaning - Over this past year I have discovered I can make my own cleaning products much cheaper than buying them. My home made cleaners I have found that there are many other benefits as well to using them. The cleaners are organic which means less fumes and I think they work better than what I buy in the store. Some basic household products you might need are; Baking Soda, Borax, Vinegar. To make your own cleaners here is a website that has a few recipes.

Meal Planning - I haven't always practiced this, but when I do I find that I don't spend nearly as much at the grocery store. By making a list of the ingredients you need for meals ahead of time this will eliminate the unnecessary things that you throw into the shopping cart that you don't need. When grocery shopping I try to do enough shopping to last for a minimum of 2 weeks to eliminate the need to go to the grocery store more than 2-3 times per month.

Shopping - When doing any type of shopping make a list of the things you need to get and plan a budget for your trip so you don't overspend. When your shopping take a look at different brands of items and choose what is the most economically correct thing for you to buy. Most store brand items it doesn't make a difference when you compare to that name brand product. By purchasing more generic items you can often save money, but you should always do what's right for you.

There are many ways to make money with your Photography. I am going to share with you some things to help give you some ideas on different ways you can sell your work.

You could do an online shopping cart. This can be an effective way to sell your products, but will require more work on your part because you will have to ship the items you sell. You may find that this may be an excellent solution for some products, while it may not be worth the effort for other types of products because you may have to have some inventory to sell your products. For ecommerce solutions this is what I recommend. Vstore

If you only have a few things to sell or a whole bunch of things to sell, I recommend opening an Etsy Store. This is a much better alternative to eBay. Keep in mind that Etsy is limited to the types of items you can sell.

The the most popular is online stores. You can create your own products and sell them in a variety of online stores that give you the versatility of creating multiple different products. Some of these stores offer everything from T-shirts to posters and books.

If you only want to sell your photos as prints or in a digital format, you can submit your photos to stock photography websites. These sites will pay you every time someone wants to use your photo. Some of these sites will only except specific types of photographs at specific times of the year. You have probably noticed by now that I am a twitter user and I have written a few blogs about twitter. Did you notice I just added an icon in the right hand column of my blog? It is called Magpie. This is a great new program to bring you some income for referrals that click on your link. Here is how it works you click here to sign up.

Magpie works one of two ways to earn money for you. When you sign up as a twitter user Magpie will place a text add in your twitter account that is relevant to your tweets. Banks in Trouble

In this troubling time in our economy, we have many uncertain things going on right now. Our real estate market is down, and the stock market has crashed. We are now in a recession that may take years to recover from. I am not writing this article so you will panic. I am writing this article to keep you informed in what is going on in the Banks today. This is a follow-up article to the the last article I wrote on September 30, 2008. This is part of the "Is your money safe?" series. With any article I write, I do extensive research, and usually provide some web links to verify my information. This is to ensure that you get the most accurate information that I can give you.

Most Banks are insured by the FDIC, Credit Unions are also insured by the NCUA. Twitter Marketing 101: Do you tweet?

Twitter has been the latest trend in social media network marketing. For those of you that don't know how twitter really works you are truly missing out on something huge. What ever your use for twitter it can help you meet other people that have the same interests as you. Twitter can help you gain an income that you may have never thought imaginable. It can and will bring more traffic to your website when used to it's fullest potential. Twitter is currently the fastest growing internet network marketing source on the web. You will find all types of people from all walks of life around the world that tweet on twitter. If you don't know what a tweet is, it is a short little sentence about what your doing in 140 characters or less. Here are some different types of tweeters you may encounter on twitter.

One Timers - Those that sign up but never use it again.
Occasional Users - Are those that use it once a month or less and for special occasions.
Weekly Users - Are those that will tweet up to a few times a week but never daily
Daily Users - Are those that use it at least once a day, sometimes will take weekends off.
Extreme Users - Are those that use twitter every day and use all avenues and devices to tweet such as cell phone, Facebook, MySpace, Squidoo etc.

To be successful with twitter you should maximize the usage. This is one of the easiest things you can do that doesn't consume a lot of time.

Send a text message and tweet from your cell phone.
Link your twitter account to other network marketing sites. You can tweet remotely from these sites.
Follow everyone that follows you. By doing this you will create a snowball effect and get more traffic to your website.

There are many other ways to maximize twitter. How and when you use it can determine how successful you are. I initially started as a Weekly user, then graduated to a Daily user. When I was a weekly user I found that very few people were watching me and the amount of users were under 20. Since then I have graduated to a Daily user, my traffic on my website has more than doubled as well as the amount of people that watch me. I wen from 15 watchers up to 60 watchers in less than a one month period. I found that this was producing much more exceptionable results. So do you tweet? Which type of user are you? These pictures were taken last weekend in an apple orchard where we were picking apples with family. Daisy somehow was fascinated by this tree. She had previously tried to climb a tree once before to go after a squirrel. I don't know if she thought anything was up there, but she got up in that tree without anyone to help her. She turned around on the tree limb and tried to get down. We did have to help her down. Daisy was too scared to come down on her own. I will be posting a video on YouTube.

The announce of the stock market crash on September 15, 2008 marketed the largest crash since 9-11, 2001. As most of us know the stock market has continued to crash everyday since. What most people don't know is the bailout plan was the government's way of placing a band-aid on a very large wound already in progress, to hopefully prevent a recession. If that happens, the depression would be larger than the great depression of 1929. Once a recession starts it usually takes many years to recover. This makes you wonder how low is the market going to go? I think unfortunately a recession has already hit. Many people are in denial. With Banks collapsing among other businesses. This leaves the next five years very uncertain. We need to figure out a better way to prepare for the future. Now in our country there is a record number of foreclosures, billions of people have no retirement and thousands of people are currently unemployed. This is a follow-up article on the the last article I wrote on July 28, 2008. This is part of the "Is your money safe?" series. With the crash of the stock market, as everyone knows there are even more banks introuble.

Daisy & the Neighbor's Cat

I thought I would post this picture because I thought it was a bit unusual. Typically cats do not run from Daisy because they are bigger than she is. Instead she gets beat up allot by the neighborhood cats because they think she is obnoxious when she barks at them. This cat is Dexter my neighbor's cat. Daisy at first wasn't sure if she liked cats or not. On this particular day she was growling and barking at Dexter, even trying to bite him occasionally. The way she does when she plays with other dogs. Dexter doesn't seem to mind that Daisy is even a dog. He comes over to play with Daisy frequently. The two of them are now good friends and will play hide and seek from each other. Who says you can't teach a dog to like cats?

I have been writing about the banks in trouble. I wrote my first article "Is your money safe?" On Monday, Wall Street had a huge market crash of over 500 points. This hasn't happened since the Stock Market Crashed on 9-11. This should be a wake up call that our economy is in trouble. One of the major losses was AIG. AIG has been one of the leading companies for retirement funds. They are going to be bailed out. What does this mean for you and me? This means that ultimately we will be paying for this through our taxes. Why should we have to pay for this? It is not our fault. Between bad investments and bad judgments of other parties that work for these companies that lose your money, they should be held accountable. A loss of this scale the Federal Government has decided to step in to bail out all of these companies that have made bad investment choices. We as tax payers do not have a choice. If your wondering where the Government gets this kind of money, it usually comes from one of two sources, they raise taxes to pay for it or it comes out of social security. At this point my Dad is at retirement age, his retirement has already been lost by bad investment choices of others, he cannot live on social security when it has already been cut. More and more senior citizens these days are looking for work just to make ends meet. The cost of living has forced many people out of retirement.

Today you can’t count on the Stock Market as a reliable way to invest your money. This is why it is so important to plan for the future. Many American’s live from pay check to pay check, it’s hard to put any money away. Saving money and having a reserve supply of food storage that will feed your entire family for a year, can be done. Looking at your budget you can cut back things you don’t really need and put away that money you would normally spend and use it towards a savings plan. You can cook more and go out less, stay in and rent movies instead of going to the theater. To save for food storage it’s not as hard as it seems. When you go the grocery store, you can buy one extra item a month to add to your food storage. When you need to use items from your food storage before it expires, replace it with the same item that is newer. Eventually you have enough items saved up for your family to live on for an entire year. It is very important now more than ever to stick to a monthly budget and set limits for yourself. This is one of the keys to becoming financially independent.

Today is September 11th. It marks the anniversary of the bombing of the twin towers in New York City on September 11th, 2001. This tragic event caused thousands of lives to be lost. In memory of those who lost their lives all Americans that can should display an American flag. Our American flag is the fabric that bonds us together and represents our fight for freedom, that others in history have given their lives to fight. Our patriotism has pulled us through tough times. Display your flag as a symbol that we support those families that have lost loved ones by this tragedy, and make a statement that the Terrorist will not win.

What were you doing on 9-11-2001? I was working at the time at a large printing facility. My company printed commemorative posters of the twin towers. I had someone ask me this question recently. Have you ever heard that you have to have money before you can make money? I found this is absolutely a false statement. There are many scams out there on the internet that advertise writing jobs, they ask you to pay a membership fee and they make it look like they are going to give you work, when in actuality they only give you a list of jobs you have to bid on then don't really tell you how to get that job. There are many places on on the web that are looking for blog writers or article writers. Any on the companies you pay anything for up front are all scams.

Is it possible to make a living as a professional blogger? Yes, it is possible to make a living doing it. It may take some time to get to that point until you become a recognized authority on what you are writing about. All of the items I am going to tell you about are absolutely free. Last Saturday, I went to a big rig truck show. The main reason why I was there was because it was a charity event. Needless to say... I like to take my camera with me everywhere, just in case I see something interesting. There were a few interesting things at this event. This truck was one of the most interesting things that caught my attention. It had to be the most money ever spent in a paint job, complete with accessories. This truck has my award for the biggest, baddest , most money spent on a paint job.

Adventures with Daisy and Jake.

On Friday, we had a Jack Russell come over for a visit. Jake stayed with us for a few hours as his owners were out of town and I had to wait until someone from their family got home from work. Daisy and Jake had a ball. Daisy would stand up on her hind legs so she would be as tall as Jake, then Jake would knock her down and lick her face. It was difficult to take some of these pictures because the dogs were moving so fast. Daisy had allot of fun and was sad when Jake had to go.

Why do you have so many ads?

I had a recent comment from a reader that asked this question. "Why do you have so many ads on your website?" This is a simple answer. The ads are there because I make money from them. I can't argue with free money. Everyone should be doing it. Everyone that is not doing it is missing out. The best part about placing ads on your site is it's absolutely free to sign up. With most companies you have 100% control of what ads will appear on your site. With google it's a little more complicated, Google has control, but you can either filter the ads you don't want, or enter in the keywords that you want your ads to target to (the most effective).

I want to tell you how great networking community websites are. It all started with Myspace, Facebook etc. A new trend I am trying out is Twitter. It's all about what your doing. You can do it from your cell phone on the go. The big positive about network communities is that you drive more traffic to your website. I believe in turn you can make more money and sell more products my using Twitter. I am conducting a Twitter study of my own. I want to see how many people will "Twitter" me in the next 24hrs after I post this blog. I want to get their thoughts on how Twitter could capitalize on expanding their network.

Some interesting facts about the oil industry.

With gasoline currently at $4 per gallon (higher in Utah) have you ever wondered how much the oil companies are making? Big oil companies claim they are not the big winners. The average proffit margin for oil companies in 7.6%. Currently the oil companies are saying that the demand is exceeding the supply, which is why gas prices continue to rise. Independently owned gas stations are only making a few cents per gallon. The federal government is currently making .18 cents per gallon. State Government is making .22 cents per gallon. Distributors make .28 cents per gallon. Refineries make .36 cents per gallon. Oil producers are making $2.96 per gallon. When you add all of that up it calculates to $4.00 per gallon without the independently owned gas stations taking their cut.

Today I recently found 2 gas stations that recently lowered their prices from last week, which was $4.17 a gallon for reg unleaded. Their prices are now $3.94 for regular unleaded. Even the local Sam's club that is usually supposed to be .05 cents cheaper, is currently $4.13. These prices are very good news considering how our economy has been going.

With the power of positive thinking when things look hopeless to someone else, you have the power to think outside the box to find a solution. To create something better and to think of a better way of doing things. I firmly believe that the power of positive thinking can get you through anything. As my ongoing campaign to help people make money, I really want to help everyone make money. I feel by doing this it will give people some hope and a way for everyone to make some money in our downed economy. I have blogged about different types of advertising. I thought I would take a slightly different approach to get the message out. The key to making money on the internet and getting noticed is advertising. This does NOT have to be PAID advertising. You just need to get the word out to get your site noticed. To key is to get on as many sites as possible with the most exposure possible. The second thing you need of course on your site is content. It has to be interesting enough that people will want to read it. The third thing you need is the correct key words to get noticed when plugging in your site. This can be the most difficult in generating the best key words to get you noticed that won't produce allot of junk. I have never been the type of person that got involved in politics before. I feel the widespread panic going on in our nation is caused by our economy along with the monopoly being played with oil. Budgeting your money.

Sticking to a monthly budget is very important in keeping yourself out of debt. I have developed some spreadsheets that are designed to keep you on task. I look at them every Monday morning. These spreadsheets were designed to help you keep track of every penny going in and coming out. They can be easily customized to fit your specific financial situation. In addition if will help you keep track of interest rates and rebates you may receive.

Balance your monthly statements. Are you afraid to open the envelope? Do you hate doing it and put it off until its time to file your taxes? I have found by using my spreadsheet I don't hate accounting so much. I actually enjoy knowing where all of my money is going. This is a simple and easy organization method of budgeting your money. Have you ever wondered how affiliate advertising works? Here is some information I am going to tell you about, it's FREE ADVERTISING. Affiliate advertising is one of the FREE ways you can start making income on your site.

You can sign up for affiliate programs to sell things on your site. These programs that you apply to will give you a commission for every sale or lead. I Love Commission Junction because they do direct deposit in my account every month for affiliate advertising, and it is one of the most user friendly sites out there. How it works is you place a link such as a banner or text ad anywhere on your site. I recommend applying to programs that would be relevant to your site as well as places you would shop. There is now law that you can 't earn commission for your own sales unless otherwise specified by the program.

Google AdSense is an ad serving program run by Google. Website owners can enroll in this program to enable text, image and, more recently, video advertisements on their sites. These ads are administered by Google and generate revenue on either a per-click or per-thousand-impressions basis. Google is also currently beta-testing a cost-per-action based service. This is one of Google's free advertising programs you can join that will specifically target text or banner ads that are relevant to your site. I found it is also a complex program to use. I am still learning it and it may take me a couple of years to master it. Previously I have blogged briefly by mentioning companies where you get get freelance work such as Elance. I am going to go more into detail on the top recommended companies and different types of programs they offer. All are FREE to sign up. You can either get work from these companies or look to hire work from these companies.

Elance is the top ranking company for many reasons. They are the number one company used by large corporations for farming out work. They have outstanding customer service and training. How they work is they will also pre-screen applicants for companies looking to hire for work. On Elance you can see job listings as well as free lance work. The positions tell you how much they pay, and how long the job will last. As an applicant you can pay a small fee and get certified in programs specific to your experience. Worth 1000 is limited in they type of work they offer, it's more for fun than anything else and has allot of great stuff to offer.
